On-site Check, Your SEO First Step
When you have finished building up your website, the next step is to market you website so everybody know your site and interesting enough to visit. Now, what makes your website interesting? Of course besides design factor, the other important factor that work the magic is your on-site optimization.
On-site optimization is the way to optimize your website in several elements, which will be describe below:
1. Meta Title. Each of your pages in your website should have a unique meta title which should be related to the content on that particular page. The best optimize title should be not more than 170 character length.
2. Meta Description. The meta description is the second most important thing as it is used to describe more detail what is the page all about. This is the source of clickthrough if you can describe your page well.
3. H1 tag. The use of H1 tag is necessary in each of your pages in your website. It is a strong contributor to search ranking. This H1 tag will be used as a meta title if you did not pre-define your meta title.
4. Image Alt Tag. The used of this also quite important as search engine can’t read image or picture on your website.
There are others consideration on-site checking that should taken into consideration such as: URL friendly check, broken links check, XML sitemap availability, proper use of robot.txt, domain age, content duplication, and URL redirection.
So, make sure that you have a checklist of on-site checking to make sure everything properly set before you start next step.
